AnArte Gallery is thrilled to present Sandra Mack-Valencia’s Solo Exhibition, “Dormant Obsessions.” Please join us for an opening reception on Thursday, August 12th, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. We will have an Art Talk at 6:15 pm, and music by Los Prados and Nina along with Champagne and Cuba Libre reception!
Leisure time has often been looked down upon by social standards. However, it is essential to have the time to discover the things that are truly important to us. 2020 was the year that forced us to stop, reconsider our priorities, and really dig into our inner selves. It was a year like no other, yes, but it was also a year that we witnessed the flourishing of a new way to experience life. It was a year people started embracing their inner passions and frustrated dreams to get through the heavy load that came along with the pandemic. Our hidden obsessions were awakened by our necessity to survive. The paintings in the “Dormant Obsessions” series are a tribute to all those new gardeners, cooks, first-time pet owners, smokers, hairdressers, cleaners, drinkers... a tribute to us. -Sandra Mack-Valencia
