My goal is to have the viewers take a trip back in time to the Golden Age of Hollywood. By using photos of icons and familiar imagery, combined with digitally designed patterns, textures created with different materials, and carefully placed castings. Mcclain presents an eight-piece body of work capturing the moments in stillness where we rediscover our surroundings with renewed clarity. Existing in a present lens we are able to notice the beauty in the otherwise perceived “ordinary”. In this collection, McClain explores the extraordinary elements existing in the “pause”, translating to canvas the joy, awareness, curiosity, compassion, and growth we find in quieting our minds and opening our hearts.
